REVIEW: SKELLINGTON MANOR

One of our favorite things about living in L.A. during Halloween is to see how many people reveal their artistry for their neighbors to enjoy. This is a testament to how fortunate we are to live in an area saturated with incredibly talented artists who use their skills and vision to brighten the Halloween spirit. Santa Clarita’s Skellington Manor is a prime example of this artistry, and it fully immerses you into a larger than life tribute to the Nightmare Before Christmas.

Built by Disney Imagineer Joey Nilges, Skellington Manor will make you feel like you are living and breathing in the world of the Nightmare Before Christmas. Nilges’ entire house and yard have been transformed into a Halloween Town residence that includes a giant Jack Skellington animatronic figure who recites lines and sings. He stands between the graveyard and the town square fountain, next to the Spiral Hill. Surrounding him are Zero, Dr. Finkelstein, and Lock, Shock, and Barrell. Oogie Boogie’s shadow dances in the windows as Sally peeps out from behind a curtain. Her potion bottles line the window sill and jack-o’-lanterns sing, “This is Halloween”. The Mummy is also present, emerging out of one of the trashcans to the side of the house. Nilges told us that his new addition for the 2020 season is the town square fountain - which has running, neon green water!

This haunt is a tremendous labor of love and an epic Halloween display for all to enjoy. Tonight is your last chance to visit before the display transforms into a Christmas theme for the upcoming holidays. Skellington Manor is absolutely spectacular and we encourage everyone to visit!
