review: reign of terror

This past spring, Thousand Oak’s Reign of Terror (RoT) was one of the first SoCal haunts to reopen to the public. Their 130 room maze is an unbelievably immersive experience, replete with horrifying scare actors, breathtaking props, stunning animatronics, and incredible design. RoT is truly a unique experience that will leave you both horrified and inspired.

RoT’s creator, Bruce Stanton, is a visionary in the world of haunts. His extremely talented creative team brings to life his epic visions year after year. As you travel through RoT, you will experience a multitude of different themes that are seamlessly joined. The unnoticed transitions between RoT’s multiple worlds are reminiscent of how you suddenly find yourself in Disneyland’s Frontierland while walking from Tomorrowland.

Stanton has mastered the Mega Haunt - thoroughly saturating a 28,000 square foot space with everything from a creepy cannibal house to a haunted mine to a zombie apocalypse. Visitors to RoT will be able to take their time and really enjoy this theme park-level experience as nobody is rushed through. We highly recommend Reign of Terror to anyone who wants to get an epic start to their Halloween season with this spectacularly spine-chilling journey through 130 rooms of horror and excitement!
